Battle of Hart River

Pre Battle Positions

The Forces started as shown above with the Balien1st and 2nd Armies separated by the Royal Cavalry  and the Archers on the right flank, while Asmouth's Heavy Cavalry is on his Left side. The Ogre Guards of Asmouth are Elite Troops.

Point of Contact

The Balien 1st and 2nd Armies move forward to engage Asmouth's Forces while the archers form on the right flank and the Royal Cavalry forms in the rear. Asmouth's forces move forward in unison with the Heavy Cavalry forming as a Flanking Unit on Asmouth's left flank.

First Hour

The 1st hour of the battle was possibly the most decisive, with the Royal Cavalry slamming into Asmouth's Main Body and cleaving through into his rear , while Asmouth's Heavy Cavalry is stopped by the arrow storm from Baliens Archers. The 1st Balien Army engaged Asmouth's Main Body and made good gains though it took fearsome losses from the Stone Giant Rock Throwers in the Rear. Baliens 2nd Army engaged Asmouth's Ogre Guard and took serious losses. At the end of the hour Baliens 3rd Army arrived and the Local Militia sortied from the keep.

Hour 2

Asmouth's Heavy Cavalry finally flanked Baliens 1st Army, but found itself caught in a vice between it and the newly arrived 3rd Army and suffered horrendous losses. In Asmouth's rear the Royal Cavalry had ground to a halt and was fighting a three front battle and losing, and the 2nd Balien Army found itself being pushed back by the Ogre Guard. at the end of the hour the 3rd Army was reforming with the militia for a charge to rescue the Royal Cavalry.

Hours 3-5

Asmouth's Forces retreated 100 yards and surrounded the Royal Cavalry while setting up a defensive perimeter, unfortunately for them they started this withdrawal at the same time the Baliens Heavy and Medium Cavalry struck their forward Units and their withdrawal became a rout as the Royal Cavalry seeing Asmouth's Forces starting to crumble, reformed and struck at his  rear, this started a 2 hour general melee in which Balien Armies superior Discipline and Weapons saw them gradually win the upper hand
