Bugbears are the largest of the Goblinoids, and also the most dangerous. They are stealthy hunter gatherers who are almost impossible to surprise. Like all Goblinoids, Bugbears are generally shunned by the Civilized Races of the World, as they are Barbaric and Troublesome.
Bugbears average 6' 6" in Height and Approx 240lb in Weight, they range in colouration from a Sickly Pinkish White to Dirty Chocolate Brown with Dark Shaggy Hair which generally is never cut and grows down to their buttocks. Bugbears have Yellow Cat-like Eyes, flattened upturned Noses, sharp canine Teeth and large dog-like Ears, their fingers and toes end in sharp claws and they are very strong.
Bugbears can be found all over the World of Ariane, and in many areas are hunted for Bounties. They live in large extended family groups with males and females sharing the hunting and gathering chores. Bugbears tend to be nomadic in their lifestyle and rarely stay long in one place, their preferred mode of housing is Hide Tents. The biggest problem Bugbears face is that the growing numbers of Humans, Elves and Halfling are impinging on their traditional hunting grounds, and Bugbears tend to consider anything in their range as belonging to them, no matter what anyone else says. This leads to inevitable conflict with the other races.
In Balien, Bugbears have a nasty reputation as Soldiers of the Evil Liches and Demons holding power in many areas of the continent, though they really only serve the Demodand Dic Dago in any great numbers. Most other Armies that use Bugbears, tend to slot them in as irregulars and scouts, making use of the bugbears great skills in Stealth and Camouflage.
Bugbear Characters in Human dominated games will have to overcome considerable hardship and mistrust to gain a place in society, and will rarely be completely trusted by whatever community ends up tolerating them.

In Rylan or Marijan make these -1 each, Bugbears are more tolerated, but even Orcs have standards.
